Mac Aodhagáin Tethbae
The Mac Aodhagáin Tethbae are the descendants of Aodhagán Mór mac Oistín via one of his great, great-grandsons, Diarmuid mac Donnchadh. Aodhagán literally means ‘little fire’, whence 'bright-eyed'.
Ancient Territory: The Tethbae sept held lands throughout modern-day County Westmeath. Notable, locations are Athlone, Mullingar and Castlepollard.
