Founded in 2013, the Brehon Academy aims to be an influential force in the revival and appreciation of the laws, customs, myths, and culture of early Ireland.
The Brehon Academy aims to be of valuable service to the world by acting as a bridge between the wisdom of old Ireland and the world today; a digital hedge-school for Irish heritage and culture with a special focus on the Brehon laws of early Ireland.
The Brehon Academy achieves this by creating audio-visual resources, online courses, reading materials, videos, building a digital resource library, and fostering the growth of the Brehon Academy Community.

Kilbarron Castle Conservation Group was formed in October 2014 to endeavour to conserve the ruins and to raise the awareness in the local community and wider world of the historical importance of the Castle . In 2021 they became aware of the parlous nature of the historic old church in Kilbarron so the Group made the decision to include the old church site in our programme.
So they are now the Kilbarron Castle and Church Conservation Group.
The committee has twelve members across a broad spectrum of skills who have carried out community work and projects such as the Creevy & District Community Development Co-Operative Society, and the enormously popular Mícheál Ó Cléirigh Summer School.

The Mícheál Ó Cléirigh Summer School was established in Rossnowlagh in 2013. The first Summer School took place on 17th May, 2014. The purpose of the school is to celebrate the life and achievements of Mícheál Ó Cléirigh and his colleagues, the other members of the ‘Four Masters.’
The school also commemorates the work of the Franciscan Friars of the period who lived in Donegal and in Louvain. Mícheál Ó Cléirigh was born in Creevy, between Rossnowlagh and Ballyshannon and the Franciscan Friary today is located in Rossnowlagh. It is entirely appropriate, then, that the Mícheál Ó Cléirigh Summer School is located in Rossnowlagh, in the Friary itself and and environs.
