A Record of Heraldry of Irish Clans

The Council of Irish Clans is establishing a Record of Heraldry of Irish clans. The aim is to restore and confirm the correct and historical coat of arms of Irish clans. While the Record will give paramount importance to proven coats of arms dated to the period of the clans, ca. 1000-1641, the Heraldry Committee will also record later certifications, matriculations, and grants awarded to chiefs of historical clans where pre-1641 documentation does not exist, and the armorial bearings of current member chiefs.
